1. SXSW Jury Award Winning Film, Thunder Road SAT. 07/28 8:15p @TRT
|Thunder Road, directed by Jim Cummings, was first conceived as short film involving a broken down man and his emotional rendition of the hit Springsteen song. The short film won a Jury Award at the 2016 Indie Street Film Festival, as well as the Grand Prize at SunDance that same year. Two years later, Cummings and his team return to Red Bank with the feature length version of their gripping story, already enjoying huge accolades including the 2018 Grand Jury Prize from SXSW. Nanfu Wang, a fearless documentary filmmaker, will be in attendance and conduct a live Q&A after the screening. Don't miss this film where Nanfu thrusts herself into a world of homelessness and drifting to learn more about a young man who seemingly chooses to be homeless.
